We received reports there were two unneutered females in Burmese housing. On inspection we found one man trying to look after the dogs but they had been left by previous tenants and he was moving on too. We took them both and Miranda required surgery for a huge bladder stone. She was very timid at first and didnt like touch but she warmed to us over time and now she cant get enough. Wondeful to take on walks she is fantastic off the lead but pulls a little on it

We found Mimi after we received calls from concerned tourists about a mother and eight tiny puppies living in a hole under a tree in a resort. Mimi was suspected to be owned by someone in the Burmese community and they had not neutered her and let her run free. There was a high chance that she and her pups would be in danger if left so we brought them all in. Mimi has a very soft personality and gets along with all dogs. She was an excellent mum to her 8 pups that have all been adopted and she has recently been an amazing Step Mum to the latest puppies we rescued - Bear, Betsy, and Bobbi.

One day we were at the dump and heard a puppy screaming in pain. We found Squeak alone in the bushes with a prolapsed anus. We took her to the clinic and she underwent surgery. Squeak was 4 months old and had very little human contact before we rescued her, so she was very nervous at first. It took us a long time to gain her trust but now she is incredibly loving and friendly. She is still a little stand-offish with men but warms to them when she learns they are nice. Squeak loves treats and running with her friend Red, and she can sit nicely and walk well on the lead.

Bear was one of five tiny puppies found hiding under a villa in a resort. While we made space at the rescue, Bear and his siblings spent some time in a foster home. Two of the puppies were adopted, and Bear, Betsy, and Bobbi came into our care. We grouped them with Mimi, who has acted as their Step Mum. At first, Bear was very nervous and scared, but his confidence has grown massively and he is now very playful and friendly.

Bambi was one of five puppies found with their mother on a resort’s property. Unfortunately they were not welcome or safe there so we took them in. Sadly one puppy died after two weeks but Bambi, Thor, Mulan, and Loki have all become big personalities at the rescue. Bambi has been well-socialised with trips to the beach and cafes and walks well on the harness. She is incredibly loving and playful too.

We rescued Sai after some previous volunteers found her lying weak in a car park. She had a blood parasite from living in the jungle unprotected against ticks. As Sai had very little human contact for the first 4 months of her life, she was very nervous around us. We slowly introduced her to touch and allowed her to come to us rather than pushing her too far. Now, she’s incredibly loving. She’s still a little stand-offish with men but is very affectionate with a little bit of patience (it’s worth the wait!). She walks well on the lead after the first 5 minutes of excitement and is good off-lead too.

Loki and Mulan were two of five puppies found with their mother on a resort’s property. Unfortunately they were not wanted so we took them in. Sadly one puppy died after two weeks but Loki, Thor, Bambi, and Mulan have all become big personalities at the rescue. They have both been well-socialised with trips to the beach and cafes and walks well on the harness. They are both incredibly loving and playful too. They can be adopted together but also separate.

Tina had terrible mange and was having litter after litter of puppies that was putting further strain on her body and recovery. We started treating her for her skin condition and it took 6 months for her skin to heal and hair to grow back. After some time it was decided that it would be best for her and her friend Tiger should be surrendered into our care. She is an incredible soft soul with lots of love to give. She walks well on the lead and is keen to play and meet everyone.

Betsy was one of five tiny puppies found hiding under a villa in a resort. While we made space at the rescue, Betsy and her siblings spent some time in a foster home. Two of the puppies were adopted, and Betsy, Bobbi, and Bear came into our care. We grouped them with Mimi, who has acted as their Step Mum. At first, Betsy was very nervous and scared. She is still a bit shy compared to her siblings, but she is getting better every day and loves to play and give kisses!

Blue was one of 8 tiny puppies found crying in a nest at the side of the road near the dump. They were 4 weeks old and Mum was nowhere to be found. Blue’s siblings Purple, Green, Teal, Pink, and Milk were all adopted. Yellow unfortunately passed away from poisoning, and Blue and Red are still looking for their forever homes. Blue is very friendly and loves his female friends Sadie, Sai Deng, Red, and Squeak. He is a very fast runner and is slowly getting better at walking on the leash without pulling.

Red was one of 8 tiny puppies found crying in a nest at the side of the road near the dump. They were 4 weeks old and Mum was nowhere to be found. Red’s siblings Purple, Green, Teal, Pink, and Milk were all adopted. Yellow unfortunately passed away from poisoning, and Red and Blue are still looking for their forever homes. Red is soft, friendly, and loves a cuddle. She has some superficial damage under her chin which is full of saliva but will heal in time. She also loves running around with her friend Squeak!

When we rescued Tara, she was all alone in a restaurant. We think her previous owners left her at the dump and she found her way to the nearest humans. Tara is incredibly friendly and loves attention. She knows how to sit and wait for treats, and is very playful with people and other dogs.

Indy followed tourists from a viewpoint. We asked around in the area and posted on our community boards but no one came forward to claim her. We found her on Independence Day so we thought the name Indy would be fun. Indy fit into the group well and was housed in the ‘Hobbit’ cage. Indy walks wonderfully on the lead and also harness. She is also a proficient scooter rider and will sit in the footwell comfortably. She loves trips to the beach but also being lazy for the day.

Bobbi was one of five tiny puppies found hiding under a villa in a resort. While we made space at the rescue, Bobbi and her siblings spent some time in a foster home. Two of the puppies were adopted, and Bobbi, Betsy, and Bear came into our care. We grouped them with Mimi, who has acted as their Step Mum. At first, Bobbi was very nervous and scared, but her confidence has grown and she is very playful and loving.

Tiger was in the same housing compound as Tina. He was tied up 24/7 on a meter long chain and he barked at us constantly, making it clear he was scared and didnt want us to come near him. It took many months of visiting every day and getting closer and eventually being able to provide food and light touch. One day Tiger and Tina were moved further outside the confines of the compound and he became friendlier overnight, letting us touch and approach him. This is when we noticed that his collar was incredibly tight around his neck and part of the clip had even pruposely been inserted under and through his skin to prevent him from slippig his lead. This had been a new development in his confinement that meant we had to take immediate action. Thankfully the owners surrendered Tiger and Tina into our care and he has blossomed into a big soft boy. Hes still very wary around large men but he really is a gentle soul that needs to be given a chance.

Colin was picked up by the government as people had reported he was biting people. Turns out Colin had been abandoned on the beach a long time ago and was being territotial and biting to protect himself. He had built up many walls and it takes time for him to trust and let you pat him but he really is a sweet little man, just with some pretty strict boundaries. He would suit a quiet home with no other animals or children, perhaps a retired person who wants companionship but not neccesarily cuddles.
