About White
Adopt White, a cheerful and affectionate rescue dog who has already proven how resilient he can be. Despite losing the only home he had ever known, White has remained friendly, optimistic, and ready to embrace a second chance with a family of his own.
White’s story began as a family pet belonging to a Thai woman on Koh Tao. For many years he lived a relatively comfortable life and was a familiar sight around the neighbourhood. Like many island dogs, he enjoyed spending time outdoors and had the freedom to come and go, always returning to the place he knew as home.
Unfortunately, everything changed during the Covid pandemic.
When tourism stopped, many people faced difficult circumstances, and White’s owner eventually left the island. White remained behind with friends and neighbours keeping an eye on him, but without a dedicated owner responsible for his care, his situation gradually became more difficult. Although people cared about him, nobody was truly able to provide the consistent care, food, and veterinary attention he needed.
Over time, White’s condition declined. Without regular meals and proper support, he lost weight and spent much of his time sheltering beneath a house. By the time we became aware of his situation, it was clear he needed more help than the community around him could provide.
We brought White into the rescue and began the process of helping him regain his health and confidence. Thankfully, White responded incredibly well. Once he had regular food, veterinary care, and a safe place to rest, he quickly began putting weight back on and showing us his true personality.
Despite everything he had experienced, White remained remarkably friendly and trusting. He enjoys spending time with people and is always happy to join a walk or simply relax nearby. He knows basic commands, can sit on cue, and walks well on the lead. He has clearly spent much of his life living alongside people and enjoys being part of whatever is going on around him.
White is an intelligent dog who would benefit from continued training and structure in a home environment. He can occasionally be reactive around some dogs, particularly when excitement levels are high, so careful introductions and sensible management are important. However, he gets on very well with many female dogs and has made several canine friends since arriving at the rescue.
One of White’s most endearing qualities is his positive attitude. Rather than dwelling on the difficulties he has faced, he approaches each day with enthusiasm, eager for attention, exercise, and companionship. He is a dog who genuinely enjoys being around people and has adapted remarkably well to rescue life.
Now around eight years old, White still has plenty of life, love, and adventures ahead of him. He is looking for a family who will appreciate his loyal nature, continue helping him build confidence, and give him the stability he has been missing for far too long.
After losing the home he once knew, White deserves the chance to find a forever family that will never leave him behind again.
